The Belle Livingstone suite
Who was Belle Livingstone?
Born as Isabel Graham in rural Kansas in 1875, Belle Livingstone was her stage name. Belle developed a persona that was all about the grandeur and glamour in Chicago. Belle made a name for herself by performing in theatre shows and then later by joining the Speakeasy life. She opened two clubs in her lifetime and hosted famous customers such as Al Capone and John D. Rockefeller. Once while in a show in New York, a publicist let it be known that Belle’s measurements matched those of the Gibson Girl, a pinup drawing idolized in the 1890s. Her photograph was published nationwide as the “ideal woman.”
Much like its namesake, the Belle Livingstone Suite is a beautiful room.
The Belle Livingstone Suite is our only 1st floor suite with a private, secured, front and back exit for guests. This elegantly decorated suite was originally a stand alone structure (The Porter House) and was added to the original structure. The suite is temperature controlled, but also features a beautiful, mantled gas fireplace and ceiling fan so you are in full control of your temperature at all times. Sleep comfortably in the king sized bed, while enjoying the flatscreen TV, or the in-suite coffee/tea bar.
